The collective knowledge, skills and expertise of the combined operations of Meales Concrete Pumping provide us with the capacity and capability to service a wide range of projects and concrete pumping applications. We have significant experience in a variety of infrastructure and civil projects. Below are a few selected list for you to peruse.
The project comprises the first section of the Perth Darwin National Highway which aims to reduce congestion and provide the northern link into Perth for heavy freight traffic and growing suburban developments. This central section project will construct a free flowing link from Reid Highway to Ellenbrook, improving access to Ellenbrook and the surrounding precincts. It includes nearly 20km of highway with four interchanges, including 14 road bridges and three footbridges.Equipment:Varied mobile pumps
Lismore Base Hospital is one of two main public referral hospitals in the Northern NSW Local Health District. With the regional population continuing to grow, the redevelopment project will be a significant boost to local healthcare needs into the future.Equipment Used:
1 x Schwing SPB35 Separate Placing Boom
Woolgoolga to Ballina is the final link in the Pacific Highway, between Hexham and the Queensland border, to be upgraded to four lanes. Upgrading the Pacific Highway and carrying out safety improvements to the existing highway have brought major improvements to road conditions.Equipment Used:Various Mobile Boom Pumps
The project involved the construction of a new link between Tiger Brennan Drive and Darwin CBD, along with the completion of the duplication of Tiger Brennan Drive from Berrimah Road to the Darwin CBD. This enables commuter traffic into and out of the Darwin CBD to be distributed more evenly, improving access and reducing traffic delays.Equipment Used:28M to 48M Mobile Concrete Boom Pumps
Thiess John Holland (TJH) is currently in the process of constructing Australia’s largest ever infrastructure project: the Airport Link Tunnel, Northern Busway and Airport Roundabout upgrade. The project involves the construction of 25 bridges, 15km of tunnels and 7km of additional roads. Valued at $4.8 billion the joint venture began construction in November 2008 and is scheduled for completion mid 2012. Meales Brisbane depot was successful in securing one of the concrete pumping agreements for this project back in 2009.Due to the array of equipment we have on offer and our close proximity to the project we have been a preferred supplier to TJH and many of the subcontractors working on site. The scope of works on this project is as diverse as the project itself with every imaginable type of pour or structure required to be pump. With the project running 6 days a week 24 hours per day concrete pumping is an around the clock operation whether it be tunnel works below ground during the nights or large deck pours starting very early morning. As the only concrete pumping contractor able to offer various telescopic and Z fold booms particular focus has been on servicing the tunnel section of the project with these versatile booms. With another 6 to 12 months of structures and tunnel fit out Meales involvement with TJH and subcontractors remains strong with many exciting challenges ahead.
The Goodwill bridge is a vital pedestrian link between South Bank and the Brisbane City. At 500 meters long, from one side of the river to the other this project was always going to be challenging and different to any other pumping job previously.
For various reasons this project required a floating line from one side of the river across to each of the different structures where a mobile boom pump was placed on a barge to help convey the concrete to the required heights. This concrete was pumped from the river bank with the help of a high pressure skid pump.
After some early challenges of floating lines verse tidal movement and wash from boats the project proved to be a great success
The Kingsford Smith Drive upgrade will involve widening the road from four to six lanes between Theodore Street at Eagle Farm and Cooksley Street at Hamilton. It will also include improvement works between Cooksley Street and Breakfast Creek Road at Albion.Equipment Used:All mobile equipment (small line pump to 52m boom, plus 3 x 42m Satellite Booms, 1 x 28m Satellite Boom and 2 x High Pressure Stationary Pumps)
The Pacific Motorway southbound in the vicinity of the Gateway Motorway merge at Eight Mile Plains experiences high levels of congestion. It is operating over capacity during the afternoon peak resulting in significant delays and unreliable travel times. Equipment Used:All mobile equipment (small line pump to 61m boom)
